SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION FOR FOREST MANAGEMENT

Meghalaya State has extremely erosive soil with intensive rainfall. Soil erosion is deemed as one of the most contributing factors of forest degradation and sediment disasters in streams and rivers. Therefore, intensive counter measures for the soil and water conservation are required in addition to the sustainable forest management activities in the Project.
